Founded in 1907, Goodman Veneer & Lumber Company joined the Group in July of 2000. Located in Goodman, Wisconsin, the new company, known as Goodman Veneer and Lumber Co., provided an immediate expansion of the Group's overall production capabilities. The facility includes a veneer mill, planing mill, sawmill and dry kilns.

Goodman's veneer mill allows an annual production of 250,000,000 square feet of rotary stock panel veneer.

It is worth noting that the mill in Goodman was among the first in the country to practice sustainable yield forest management where company lands were selectively logged and reforested to ensure a constant and dependable supply of logs for the mill. This practice has since been adopted throughout the industry and continues to be the norm with Besse's Forest Products Group operations.
